Maths Anxiety

Just completed a CPD session on Maths Anxiety in secondary with White Rose Education.
A few takeaways that really stayed with me:
• Maths anxiety is real, and it often starts long before secondary school.• It’s not about ability — it’s about experiences, beliefs, and sometimes even maths trauma built up over the years.• And here’s an important one: maths teachers themselves can suffer from Maths Anxiety too. We’re human, and many of us carry our own school experiences into the classroom.
The good news? With the right approach, calm explanations, and small wins, confidence can be rebuilt.
That’s exactly the kind of maths I try to share here — clear, kind, and step by step.
