GCSE Maths: Final 2 Weeks Strategy

Apr 30
1 min read

You have 2 weeks left.

This is no longer about “learning everything”.

This is about not losing easy marks.

What to do now:

✔️ 1 past paper (or half) every day

✔️ check with the mark scheme

✔️ keep an error log (and stop repeating mistakes)

Where marks are lost:

missing units (cm / cm²)

rounding too early

not showing working → lose 1 mark

weak fractions & percentages

Timing rule:

⏱ ~1 minute per mark + 10 minutes at the end

Stuck? Skip → come back later ⚠️

Classic mistake: Do NOT buy a new calculator the day before the exam. You will: waste time finding π, struggle with fractions, make avoidable mistakes. Use the one you already know.

Final 48 hours

✔️ light practice

✔️ review mistakes

❌ no new topics

This exam is not about knowledge. It’s about: accuracy, habits, exam technique 👉

That’s what can realistically add +1–2 grades in 2 weeks.
